Karen Horneffer-Ginter, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist and co-founder of the Center for Psychotherapy and Wellness. Before living in Kalamazoo, she worked in Chicago, educating physicians and medical students in communication skills and "whole-person" approaches to health. More recently, she served as Director & Associate Professor in the Holistic Health Care Program at Western Michigan University. In her work as a psychotherapist, teacher, speaker and writer, she focuses on psycho-spiritual approaches to healing, as well as the process of finding balance and vitality in our day-to-day lives.

As a therapist, Karen works with adults, couples, and adolescents facing a range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, life stresses, and relationship concerns. She also enjoys working with people who want to pursue counseling as a means of personal growth, and as an exploration of their psychological and spiritual well-being. Her approach to counseling is relationship-centered and holistic, reflecting an integration of various therapeutic orientations (for details, see biography at www.karenhg.com). Karen received her B.A. from the University of Michigan Honors College and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical and Community Psychology from the University of Illinois. She is a participating provider with most health insurances, including BCBS.
