Whether in formal meditation or day-to-day activities, the purpose of mindfulness practice is to bring one's awareness to the present moment. Through this practice, we develop greater mental and emotional stability, work with habitual patterns and make different choices in life, as well as cultivate a sense of peace and well-being from within. Mindfulness practice has been shown to have a positive impact on issues such as: chronic pain, anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances, GI distress, fatigue, high blood pressure, headaches, and marital and family stress.

This class provides clear instruction on the principles and practices that cultivate mindfulness in our daily activities. Each session includes structured meditation experiences and discussions that interface with at- home practice throughout the course. Reading material and CDs with guided meditations are included. Participants will develop a mindfulness practice they can integrate into their lives. An all day retreat is included in the eight week course, which graduates are invited to attend in future sessions.
